[FC.USC] Free Culture Flickr Photo Scavenger Hunt!

Summer is almost upon us, and what better way to celebrate than participating in, our first “Free Culture Flickr Photo Scavenger Hunt”! Next Tuesday (May 1st), in groups of how ever many, you will spend the hours between 11AM and 3PM snapping up as many photos as you can that has to do with the list of topics we will provide and then uploading them to flickr under Creative Commons licenses. Solo shooters are obviously welcome, but isn’t it more fun to work together? The topics will range from the concrete (bicycle, tree) to the abstract (joy, friendship) and will most certainly contain references to FC-themed issues.

The whole thing will be finished off with a BBQ at 6:30 PM (location TBA). The BBQ will also act as a sad farewell to visiting-prof and digital activist Cory Doctorow, our special advisor this past year. It should be a great time with good food, good people, and everyone’s photos on display to look at and admire. Its the last day of stop-week before exams, so what better way to spend your time than doing something fun and relaxing?

We will meet outside of Leavey library on the morning of the 1st to get everyone together before spinning off on our own. ANYONE and EVERYONE are welcome.
